Description
Colonel Shaw began his military career as an officer in the 2nd Massachusetts Infantry before being promoted to Colonel of the 54th Massachusetts. Leading what was referred to as a "Colored Regiment" early in the war required courage and fortitude. Shaw was killed, leading his regiment in the attack on Ft. Wagner. Featured in the movie, "Glory", Shaw was once again known as a hero to the nation.
This cdv is somewhat faded, as can be seen in the photograph. However, it is a fine image, priced extremely well!
