Who I Am

Historical Recollections, Ltd.

Historical Recollections is the end-result of a man who has been collecting various things since childhood and his wife of over 40 years who has been supportive (with limitations in place!) of the hobbies filling the house. I happen to be "that man".......with a passion for collecting Civil War photography, ancient coins, some U. S. coins and briar pipes. I began collecting Civil War images in the "old"days when union general cdvs went for maybe $40 and expensive was considered to be anything over $100!

There are many friends that I have made through collecting. It has been sad losing some of them, including several who served as mentors when I entered the hobby. I miss Bill Turner, Dave Zullo, Mike McAfee. Dan Deeks and others. However, it has been a pleasure getting to know the newer collectors and dealers. They are the people who breathe fresh life into the collecting community!

What I sell

What you are buying as this website opens its cyber "doors" comes from my own collections. I am not a dealer, although I may one day begin purchasing things with an eye towards resale. Rather, I am a collector who needs an outlet to sell my "extra" items. Sometimes I am lucky enough to buy a collection or album and, as with most collectors, I needed an avenue to sell the duplicates and images that fall outside of my interests to other collectors. I am starting with Civil War photography but will eventually begin selling off my U.S. and Ancients coin collections.

General sales policies

PLEASE CALL TO CHECK ITEM AVAILABILITY BEFORE MAKING PAYMENT!  Sales are limited to the United States. All items are guaranteed to be as described and as shown in the photographs. If you have any questions about an item, please call or email to get an answer before making your purchase. I am always happy to help!

Although it is possible to make purchases as a "guest", please consider filling in the brief information to open an account. NO FINANCIAL INFORMATION is kept on this website! When you make a purchase here via PayPal, the information you enter is sent through a PayPal payment gateway. PayPal takes the payment and sends me a notification of same to complete the order.

Payment can be made via check or PayPal.  If paying by check, please be aware that items will be shipped after funds have cleared our bank. This is typically about a week. Items paid for via PayPal will be shipped as quickly as possible, typically within 2 business days. All items are shipped via U.S. Postal Service insured First Class mail unless an order reaches $1000. Anything over that amount will be sent via registered and insured mail.

If you wish to return an item, you must notify me by email within seven days of receiving it. Items must be in the same condition as when sent in order to receive a refund. Shipping costs will not be refunded unless an item is not as described/shown.
