Description
The CDV is signed on the back and has a backmark by Merz & Ulrich, New York. The 11th New York was the regiment of Elmer Ellsworth. This is a nicely priced identified image with some trimming of the card, not affecting the albumen print in any way.

Enlisted on 6/16/1863 at New York City, NY as a Lieut Colonel.
On 6/16/1863 he was commissioned into Field & Staff NY 11th Infantry
He was Mustered Out on 7/20/1863 at New York, NY
